Description
For Sale: Custom Moto Guzzi California III Café Racer – 1989
This unique build started with a true classic – a 1989 Moto Guzzi California III 1000. Instead of restoring it to stock, the goal was to create a raw, authentic riding experience – a true café racer that combines Italian heritage with bespoke craftsmanship.
I chose this Moto Guzzi for a custom café racer build for two reasons. First, because I couldn’t find another similar Guzzi café racer on the market – I wanted something truly unique. Second, I wanted to capture the most authentic and raw motorcycling experience possible. Moto Guzzi, with its legendary V-twin and true biker spirit, was the perfect foundation.
A Moto Guzzi is, by its nature, a raw and powerful machine – rugged, solid, and built with character. Riding it is a truly unique experience, very different from the smooth and refined feel of Japanese motorcycles. This build preserves that original spirit while amplifying its café racer soul.
The transformation features:
Handcrafted fuel tank and tail section – one-of-a-kind custom design.
Custom seat – built to match the clean café racer lines.
Clip-on low sport handlebars – for an aggressive riding position.
Custom exhaust system with integrated silencers – raw but refined sound.
Complete custom wiring harness tailored to the bike.
Axel Joost Elektronik B-Box central unit – modern reliability with classic soul.
Motone switches – premium details.
MotoGadget indicators – sleek and functional.
HighSider lighting (front and rear) and HighSider mirrors – stylish finishing touches.
Front suspension lowered by 10 cm and rear raised by 4 cm – achieving the perfect stance and an improved riding posture.
Original frame left untouched – ensuring authenticity and preserving the bike’s core identity.
This Moto Guzzi is not just a motorcycle – it’s a statement. Built with attention to detail, it represents the essence of pure motorcycling: raw, mechanical, and timeless.
