1977 Pre series prototype Porsche 930 turbo 3.3
As a pre series prototype car numbered “00012”, this turbo is most probably the very first 930 turbo Porsche equipped with the 3.3 engine with intercooler. This extreme early 3.3 was manufactured as a prototype for the Porsche factory and was delivered to the Porsche organisation in June 1977.
Next to the uprated engine there were several new developments on the new 1978 model 930 cars.
Larger ventilated brake rotors and large brake calipers front and rear, derived from the 917 race car. The enlarged 16” wheels where also standard on the 3.3 turbo. The suspension setup was uprated to match the power increase. Finally, the new tea tray spoiler to accommodate the new intercooler was introduced on this car. Finished in the original color, a non standard color named Bordeaux red over black leatherette seats with pinstriped inserts. Powered by a 3.3-liter flat six joined by a four-speed manual gearbox.
This 930 turbo shows just over 125.800 documented km’s and is offered with service records dating back to 1977, a tool roll, tire compressor, jack, service books, car and audio system manuals, and a Porsche certificate of Authenticity. An extensive document folder contains lots of invoices, import documents, brochures, controle technique documents, insurance documents, copy of French title, Dutch title in the seller’s name and a letter on research done at the Porsche works.
This turbo is in a superb condition with a recently revised engine and gearbox. The overall condition is beautifull original.
