This well kept and nicely presented 964 Carrera 4 with manual gearbox was delivered new to the French market in 1992 through the Porsche dealership in Alsace.
The 964 is the perfect mix between a classic 911 with everyday creature comforts. When introduced in 1989, the iconic lines of the original 911 remained largely intact, but 85% of the car was brand new. The electric rear spoiler for example, but also modern technology like ABS and power steering. The then new 3.6l engine produces an impressive 250 horsepower. This makes the 964 still pretty quick for today's standards.
Completed in the rare shade of Horizon Blue Metallic over Blue leather, the list of options indicate some nice creature comfort options. In addition to the great colors, the car also has heated seats and airconditioning. In keeping with the thoughtful specification with which the car was originally ordered, the Porsche has received regular maintenance since new. Stamps in the original service book indicate the dealer services during its life as well as a stack of records detail the continuing service till today.
The car started life in France and stayed there until our acquisition in 2025. What has become a rarity today is that this car largely presents its original paint ! Today; the entire external bodywork still emits a deep glossy shine overall with all glass and lenses remaining clear and free from any cracks or crazing. We can see the original panels front - including sticker - and rear indicated these were of course never involved in any accident. The car presents in beautiful and unmolested condition still with its original Cup wheels and Cup mirrors.
As a result of the well maintained condition of this car and its lower mileage, only very light signs of use can be seen on the interior; a testimony to the car's careful owners and the quality of these fine cars. The seats, door cards, switches, door cappings and dashboard are totally unmarked. Carpets and mats also remain in perfect order.
This 1992 Porsche 964 is a cherished example of the second-generation 911. It features the iconic 17-inch Cup wheels, the streamlined “aero” side mirrors introduced in the later years, and an airbag steering wheel. Most notably, the car is powered by Porsche’s reengineered 3.6-liter flat-six engine (M64), which brought improved reliability, better torque delivery, and a more refined driving experience over earlier variants.
This 964 has been meticulously maintained, with no expense spared in its upkeep. The odometer was professionally replaced by Porsche at 70,000 km — fully documented in the service manual - ensuring complete transparency. A recent comprehensive service was carried out by our respected specialists at RSC Automobile, ensuring it’s in excellent mechanical condition and ready for the road or collection.
With its lovely color combination, its nice list of options, tool kit, original spare tire, compressor, original documentation and a lot of invoices and history, this car presents very well today. It is truly a perfect all around car—suitable as transit to a black tie dinner or a weeks long lovely summer vacation, it will look equally stylish at either event and is plenty sporty to make the trip there exciting!
With just under 120.000km's on the odo, it will no doubt appeal to marque collectors, but also presents a great opportunity to get behind the wheel of a stylish and usable modern classic 911.
