Extremely rare late TVR Chimaera 500 (2001) LHD in Starmist Chianti.
c.67k km with 2 previous owners.
Power steering, air-conditioning (non-functioning) & leather door cards.
Always garaged and previously kept in Dubai hence seen no road salt and little rain. Original chassis/outriggers in good condition with only minor surface corrosion (non-wax oiled for full inspection).
Owned by me since 2019. Work in my tenure includes:
- New rear screen and hood repair
- Full alarm & electrics overhaul by TVR electrical guru Carl Baker (photo history)
- New fuel lines
- New thermostat and sensors
- New MAF
- New alternator
- New rocker gaskets
- Reconditioned ECU
- Reconditioned headlights (brighter than OEM)
- New dashboard
The car is currently in France on UK plates. It is finishing the process of attaining full EU compatibility having passed all UTAC criteria bar one (rear vision, now corrected) including the fitment of new compliant seat belts, fog light, constructor's plaque etc.
Recent bill from English sports car specialist Garage Aumônier for €4,900.
Beleived to be one of fewer than 50 LHD Chimaera 500s built and one of the last off the line with all the post-facelift features (front grille, recessed rear plate, upgraded rear lights, Leven indicator/wiper stalks etc).
Good overall original condition and mechanically sound. Some stone chips to nose/bonnet and wheel arches. The red interior carpets have also faded.
